Mackerel

Mackerel is a pelagic fish found in both temperate and tropical seas along the coast or offshore oceanic environment.  The mackerel belongs to a large family including species of Scomber Scombrus (available from UK, Norway, Iceland, Canada, Ireland), Scomber Australasicus (found in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand), and Scomber Japnonicus (appearing in Taiwan, China, Korea, Japan).

Mackerel could be processed in whole round, HGT, fillet, portion, canned, prepared for all kinds of cuisines around the world.

This fish is also used as commercial fishing bait in long liners.  The shinny fish skin attracts tuna’s eyes and firm body could endure under seawater for a period of time.
